Can you contract a virus, like the flu, through any orifice on your body?!

Question: In general, you can get a virus in any orifice, including tear ducts, but the mucus membranes are the most common tissues where viruses take hold. Some viruses, such as flu and cold viruses are limited to infecting mucus membranes, some viruses, such as a rotovirus are limited to the digestive tract, and viruses like herpes are generalists that can cause infection in a variety of tissues.

Typically the flu is contracted through your nose and mouth. Someone coughs..you breath it in. Someone doesn't wash there hands...you pick up something up they touch and rub your nose or eyes...you've introduced the germs to your body. Using a phone after someone with the flu, eating or drinking after someone....these are generally how the flu is spread.

yes
