Hemorrhoids is the biggest reason for seeing blood in a bowel movement. It can also because by ulcers, medications like Plavix, fissures in the large intestine near the anus.

yes it could be internal bleeding, you need to go to a doctor. or sometimes it could just be a little tear, see if it keeps up for another day if so go to a doctor no joke internal bleeding eh nooo good

Blood in your stool is never good. See a dr asap. Go to the ER if there is alot or it occurs with your next stool.
PS if your stool is just red...it could be from red food coloring...

You should really change your avitar when you ask a question like that. Once thought it was blood in the stool before, but I discovered that drinking to much kool aid can change the color. Too many marsh mellows have the same effect. look back on what you ate, but if it is a constant thing go to the doctor could be serious and that would be bad then who else would ask questions about stool problems on Yahoo Answers. I would miss you.

It is absolutely not internal bleeding. If you were bleeding internally, your feces would be black, you would not have blood IN your feces. The anal sphincter has many blood vessels that are rich in blood. It is normal to strain these vessels when you defecate, and they will usually repair themselves. There is no need for a doctor, it happens to me all the time.
Again, it is not an ulcer, because your feces would be BLACK.
If your stools were hard, then thats the reason. If not, then you must see a doctor.
