Why does it seem I cough more when I smoke less?!

Question: I smoke about 5-7 cigarettes a day, ultra lights, but it seems if the more I smoke the less I cough and/or wheeze at night. I find that very strange. Any ideas?

Oh, and BTW, I know it's bad for me so no lectures please. Thanks.

When you stop or even cut back on smoking, your lungs start detoxing themselves. You will probably cough up a lot of junk. It's really productive.

it is your body's way of cleansing itself

ur bodys not used 2 it itll go away

you cough more because the phlegm in your throat is loose now.

You're coughing more because you're lungs are producing more "things" for you to cough up because smoking drys out your lungs. When you don't smoke as much, you may notice you produce more sputum.
