I have had a positive tb test, should i have had treatment? This was about 15 yr!

You see a positive TB skin test on means that you have been exposed to TB and that your body has started to make antibodies to the bacteria. Everyone always gets so freaked out about it. Many people who have a positive reaction just need yearly monitoring to make sure that they didn't convert to active TB. Most of us don't. Eat healthy, exercise and get a good amount of sleep each night. When around people who might be carriers of bacteria and other germs wear a face mask. If they ask why, lie. The them that you have had the sniffles and that your tring to protect them from you. It generally gives them the feeling that you care about them while protecting your assests. you should have been sent for a chest xray to make sure it is all clear and i don't know about 15 yrs ago but to day they give you a pill (isoniazid) to take for a few months.
Yes you should have it treated. I'd talk with your doctor about what is the best thing to do, but I'd suggest getting it taken care of.
