Do I need A tetanus shot?!
Question: Im not sure if I need a tetanus shot and I hate to go to the dr's and look like an idiot.. but I was changing blades in a box cutter (razor cutter) and the old rusty blade sliced my thumb, not enough to need stitches, i think but enough to bleed through 2 band aids..I cant remember when the last time I had a tetanus shot...am I ok with out getting one?

GET ONE!!! If you aren't able to remember the last one, its time for another...You would probably be OK,but its crazy to take such a chance..

Yes, get one for sure. Every 10 yrs. is the bare minimum, some go every 7 yrs.
Rust doesn't cause tetanus, it's a bacteria that could potentially be anywhere and a skin opening is ripe for infectious agents. Puncture wounds and bites are also very much a risk factor.
Clean it out well and go to your clinic or doc. asap.
