Fibromyalgia help needed?!

Question: I was told last night that I have this disease. Is this something that will get worse in time? Also is there help out there for people who do not have insurance where they can see someone over this? I live in Virginia, and I see a doctor at a free clinic, so they can't do much. I didn't ask him last night cause I didn't think of it. Any help would be appreaciated.

The best thing I can tell you is to start reading everything you can get your hands on to try and understand what is going on with your body. My suggestion is start with your local library , before you spend money on books. You money will be best spent on healthy foods, vitamins and supplements , and possibly some warm water workouts.

Sweetie, there are so many things that DO help but the majority of it is stuff you will have to do for yourself . Doctors can write prescriptions for us but you will find lots of our treatment is about taking care of ourselves. You will need soemthing to take the edge off your pain and something to help you sleep. Sleep is half of the probelm with fibromyalgia.

It took me a long time to find things that help me to manage my pain. (Notice I didnt say I am cured? ) I have written about those things on my Yahoo Blog. Please go to my blog and look for the one titled what helps me. That's a good starting point for you. I can tell you what I found to improve my fibro, its up to you to decide if you are willing to change your life so that you will feel better.

ask to see a pain specialist.

You may want to call back the doctor and ask him any specific questions you might have regarding seeing a specialist. Usually a rheumatologist would take care of this, but a general practitioner (from the free clinic) should know enough to help you, unless your symptoms are really bad.

Fibro waxes and wanes and can get worse with stress, lack of sleep, and some people notice that if they eat too much sugar it gets worse. It is different from person to person. It can get worse over time, but learning to deal with it can help with the long term symptoms. It can be hard to deal with sometimes...

There is a great website, butyoudontlooksick.com, that has a lot of useful info from other fibro sufferers and provides a lot of support. Good luck! I wish you a pain free, energy filled day!

I was told that I might have Fibromyalgia and my pain was so unbearable I would be up all night crying. My doctor prescribed
me an anti depressant and said my pain would get better. My pain is 50% gone so I would consider reading up on this disease because it is not a life threatening disease it comes and goes. There is no known cause for this disease either and if it gets to a point where you can't work you can get disability for it.

Stem cell nutrition might help.

In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth be healed sister! This is my prayer for you. Go in faith. Love, your brother in Christ.
