Jaundice is the yello discoloration of the skin and sclera of the eyes. Jaundice from day 1 is indicative of disease state, day 2 - 5 usually physiological, which means you continue breastfeeding at 2 - 3 hourly. By the way, why was the baby in hospital for 5 days, which most probably means you need follow-up for advice and tests if your health care provider sees it as appropriate.

jaundice is the yellowing of the skin or eyes. baby's often have it after birth. it may be that they're not getting enough milk (especially in babies that are only breast fed, as the mom isn't producing enough yet). it can also be broken down by sunlight. BUT, this does not mean that the baby needs to be in the sun, AND it would definitely need sunblock, AND no longer than 15 min/day.

'Jaundice' is generally a skin discoloration.
With smokers, they tend to get yellow skin, I think.
I'm not too sure what it would mean for a child, however- check Wikipedia.

Jaundice is simply the yellowing of skin. It happens to babies because their livers aren't used to cleansing out their bodies yet. For most babies it goes away on it's own. Don't worry about it. It normally doesn't have to be treated.

It is jaundice. Sometimes it is serious , sometimes not. If it is pretty serious the baby has a littlke yellow cast to their skin It has to do9 with thr RH factor in the blood. If you want , you can go to www.webmd.com and look up jaundice. I would call the doctor at the very least. My brother was jaundiced and the hospital wouldn't let my Mom take him home. So look it up on Webmd.com and
