Questions about ear cartilage piercing?x?!
Question: Could anyone answer a few questions i have?:
1)There is a piece of skin at the top of the ear. In cartilage piercing is the skin pierced or the boney part, that is underneath the skin?
2)Is a needle or gun better?
3) If i was to do it at home or get a friend to do it, are there any precautions to take? ( Obviously not cleaning equipment, i know) I mean is there any paticular parts that you must not pierce? Perhaps where a nerve is?

When you get a cartilage piercing, it goes through the cartilage and skin. I had mine done with a gun. Don't recommend that you do it at home. It's HARD to get a needle through the cartilage, it can hit a nerve and cause a lot of problems. My advice is to go to a certified piercer. It may cost a bit more, but they have training to do the piercing right.
1.It goes through the cartilage and skin.
2. NEEDLE!!!!!!! NEVER EVER PIERCE YOUR CARTILAGE WITH A GUN! I learned the hard way and it shattered my cartilage. Hurt for a year before I took it out. I have had close to 50 surgeries and it was the worst pain I have ever felt.
3. NEVER EVER PIERCE ANYTHING AT HOME! Piercing parlors are TRAINED to do it!
