What causes zits slightly above the lip?!

The same thing as other zits. A pore very close to your lip got clogged. You might not be cleansing well enough, because you dont want to get soap in your mouth (understandable). Or using too much product on your lips.
It could however be a cold sore, which is a type of herpes. But not a really bad kind.
Clogged pores. Lipstick/Lipgloss can smudge and contribute to the clogged pore.

Same as any other zits, clogged pores. But your mouth may be more susceptible to getting, as you eat with it.
i would say licking your lips or wiping ur mouth with your hands or using lip gloss. to get rid of them make sure to cleanse their thoroughly and everyday.
