My mother of a nurse of 40 years. Was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. They said it was because in her work she was exposed to radiation.
This is one way of getting cancer. So, when you go to get an xray for a leg or something. Please ask them for a thyroid protection thing. Not just on your other organs.

I think no one knows of the real causes of cancer. It can sometimes be genetic but smoking and drinking spirits seems to be the answer for head and neck cancers. Its better to avoid these two things but no one can be sure...it could also be related to pollution in the air.
We will never know the exact cause of cancer. You can do somethings in your life like lifestyle changes that can help you reduce the chances of cancer.
