So if 1 in 4 teen girls have an STD,?!

Question: Then what is the ratio of boys? I realize it is easier to know in girls, b/c they go to the gyno and boys do not see such a doctor. But what are they trying to say by leaving the boys out of this, that it is all on the girls?? This reiterates my theory that the females are always to blame for sexual misconduct

I agree that it is so bias to only reveal this fact about girls. It has always been the way of the world that females are the ones who are grilled about being sexually active and providing the protection and abstaining themselves. In todays world, mainstream society believes boys who hook up a lot are heroes, and females who hook up a lot to be whores. Its probably because the effects of being sexually active moreso effect women (women get pregnant and have children) while biologically, all men can do is impregnate. For many boys(not all of them but many) that is where their involvment ends. Its ridiculous their now bringing this bias steryotype into the STD awarness. I mean, it is very important to know 1 in 4 girls now have an STD, but isn't it just as important to know how many boys? After all, it was (to the women) most likely a man who gave them the STD in the first place. The media is so messed up. They put all the resposibility on the shoulders of females, and not so much as a pat on the back for a benifit. If girls are going to be soley responsible for sexual misconduct, like you mentioned, then the least society can do is provide us a simple truthful stastic for boys.

probable about the same with guys cause most have had sex with a girl and she could have had it

That's a good question. Especially when it is easier to detect STDs in males than females.

it doesn't say that the girls are responsible for this. but the news media will shock parents into action faster if it's the parents **daughter** that's gets infected or has a higher chance of infection. Parents will talk to their daughter and the girl will take the lesson to heart.
But boys will screw anything on two legs. They don't care.
and there's not much you can do about that attitude.

LD

sexual transmitted infections can often have long term reprecussions for women, but generally not for men (the ones in the study were HPV, chlamydia, trichomoniasis, and herpes simplex) and because of our anatomy women are much more easily infected.

and most importantly--nearly every epidemiological study focusses on a specific population, in this case it was 14-19 year old american females.

no, there is no way a sane person could use this to blame STIs on girls, and there is no way that sexual misconduct is a female thing! how many women do you see going out and raping people? how many women go out and brag about sleeping with ten guys in one week?!?
i mean, you can't put all the blame on one gender, sex takes two and many STIs are difficult to transmit woman-woman, so these girls are getting things from guys.

STD's are the same in boys 1 in 4 get STD's
now for who is to blame
it is not about blame
this is really about responsibility
who's responsibility both the guy and
girl 100% each

This is the problem with this country.

Girls are more susceptible to STDs simply b/c of the way their bodies differ from boys. Men should have to be tested regularly but I have heard from a friend who had an STD that they would not test her boyfriend because it was be uncomfortable and he was just have to receive the same treatment of drugs she was taking.

Give me a break! I don't exactly go skipping to my gyocologists office once a year either.

Same....
that study was released to scare guys....
but the statistic is the same either way
