He should go to the doctor and get a blood test if anything. Does he feel any pain like severe heartburn or pains in his upper right quadrant of his abdomen. The heartburn could be caused from damage to the esophagus, and the latter to gall bladder or liver damage. If you care about him, convince him to go see a doctor. Multiple years of alcohol abuse can lead to the damages I just stated.

Get a doctors appointment I have never heard of this, it sound like he has a throat infection just like when you get an ear infection it bleeds sometimes
alcohol can cause your blood to thin (and flow harder or pulse) so it makes sense it would bleed more........and maybe he does have some type of cancerous growth or something going on with his digestion system. He needs to see somebody. Everybody who has alot of drinks doesn't bleed from the mouth!
bleeding ulcer, bleeding internally or stomach cancer could be some of the lining issues of blood coming from the mouth. I know by now you've gone to the doctors I hope. Seek a doctor ASAP...
