Contracting HIV through your EYE?!

Question: I Was wondering if i had oral sex with a male (who says he only had sex with another man ONCE, and he swears that he isn't positive (ive known him since the third grade) [girls unknown, probably one or two]) and some of his cemen got in contact with my eye if that would pose a serious threat of contracting the HIV Virus.

I Say this because I am 19, i Just took an HIV test for my promescuity today and I turned up negative on everything (mind you this was a test to see if i had contracted the virus from my other partners over 8 months ago, but i left out this one person)

The male that I had sex with was about 3 months ago. It was oral and he came on my eyelid on accident (and it was a drop at best) i rinsed it out really fast but it became irrated (i dont know, is that sometimes normal for the eye to be irritated)

So i am just concern and i just want to be sure so I don't have to worry about it.

Thank you.

(Sorry for the ill constructed paragraphs.)

There might be a small chance of infection through the eye, but not very likely as the tears would wash the semen away. But the better news is that if your contact with this guy was three months ago and you just got tested you are fine. The window period for HIV is 3 months. So I would say you have nothing to worry about.

Its normal for the eye to be irritated because it has lots of nerve endings. HIV is a sexually transmitted disease. That means it is transmitted through sexual intercourse. But it may also be transmitted through blood products. I dont think it will do you harm by having a semen contact with your eyes. But its better off to see a doctor to be safe.

This probably won't be the best answer, nor exactly the one you wanted to hear. I wouldn't say it would be a serious threat, but although miniscule, there is one because the eye can be permeated. you should definitely be tested again but should wait six months (HIV can incubate for that long) from the incident for a more accurate test. As far as the irritation in your eye, it was most likely due to the salts found in semen.

Absolutely. I had pink eye with pus accumulation that so bad that eyes were crusted shut from a gonnorhea infection. I must of touched my eye at some point. Its definitely possible.

Do you really think your partner has HIV? Get tested every six months. It takes that long for HIV infection to show up.

Umm, it makes sense for the eye to be irritated if it's been exposed to semen.

my boy friend works at at a health clinic and NO U DO NOT HAVE HIV if that happened 3 months ago and u just been tested then NO YOU DONT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd rather get it in my mouth than my eye, but if it has been three months and you tested negative I would go on and worry about something else.

It can sting when you get it in the eye and it can stain the wall over the headboard.

Snorkle and swim mask? Just kidding with you. You're o.k.
