What are the chances Gordon Brown and His Health minister cronies will answer my!

Question: My 6 yr old son was confirmed as TB positive today NOT infectious but has to be on antibiotics for 3 months.
I'm furious to discover that routine TB vaccinating has stopped in the UK and that immigrants are allowed into the UK with no vaccination history.
I have written demanding answers to the above points, so what are the chances?
The "lioness" in me has come out today!

I read about this some time back,Gartom when there was an outbreak in Leicester and was appalled that vaccination wasn't compulsory.
It was stopped because it was deemed to be more or less "eradicated" but if it has reappeared then it is in *everyone's* interest to reintroduce vaccinations.
I am furious that political correctness takes precedence over *eveyone's* health when discussing this issue and the causes of the outbreak should be indentified and dealt with.
This report is a typical BBC/government fudge which helps *no-one* -

I doubt if you'll get much different from the government today but lionesses can and will be more than a match for HMG when it concerns their cubs - that I know for a fact.
Best wishes to you and yours.

Edit : You'll see that that Leicester outbreak was seven years ago so something should have been done THEN!

You deserve an answer Gartom, I'd be furious too !! If I was to hazard a guess, I'd say you won't get a reply, but what do I know lol !!
Good luck.

Well, you never know. You might have to write alot of times though. That' mad! Didn't know they'd stopped routine vaccinating. Idiots!

I agree entirely, but where I live having immigrants with vaccination history wouldn't help, as the TB cases we have come from British born Asian community travelling to Pakistan without being vaccinated and then bringing it back. Of course this gets swept under the carpet, no one wants to called a racist.

How awful for your son, I hope he is going to be OK. I have raised the question of the abolition of TB vaccinations with my health visitor and doctors, who all seem to think a terrible error has been made.

I doubt they will listen to your questions. I have signed numerous petitions on health and education issues on the number 10 website and the answer is always the same; we're right, you're wrong, tough luck. The petition for the reintroduction of TB vaccines is below, for what it's worth you may want to add your name to it.

Best wishes for your son to make a swift recovery.

TB screening is now in place. but i dont think one country can demand another to do anythink.

Like you M I am furious that you and others have been open to this disease which could have been prevented. You also have a valid point about immigrants bringing it into Britain. I am sorry to say though that you probably won't get any answers - maybe we should start a petition on here demanding answers and vaccination again although I know it is too late for you and yours.

Ive already answered on your other question Gart...and Im with you on this one....
