Skin lesions? What is this?!

Question: I've had this patch on my face for about a week now-- I just thought it was dry skin, so I scratched it a little, but now it won't go away and I'm getting worried.

My boyfriend also has something similar on his back. What could it be?

I couldn't tell much by the picture but it kind of looks like a Ringworm lesion. Ringworm usually starts out as a sold red raised lesions then the center clears out and the edges remain raised so just a "ring" is left. If its ringworm (tinea) it is a fungal infection and can be treated with an antifungal ointment or cream such as Lotrimin, Tinactin, or Blue Star Ointment.
Check your cat--sometimes cats can spread it to humans. It is also contagious person to person. Wash your hands if you touch it. You can spread it to other parts of your own body too.

Tinea circinata.. (ring worm)
