I'm really having trouble finding something to drink?!

Question: I had chemo on Tuesday and I don't know what to drink. Water out of a bottle tastes like plastic, water out of the sink tastes disgusting, soda is gross, juice is gross, I need something, my mouth is so dry but I can't figure out what to drink. I need something really cold that will taste okay to my messed up taste buds. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I don't like milk, but I drank a lot of it while on chemo. I had the same problem as you with water, so my mom bought one of those filtered water pitchers and used it to make koolaid for me. I drank a ton of Gatorade, too.

edit: Forgot to mention popsicles. I ate a million of those during treatment.

what about gatorade..?.. have you tried milk,, tea,, starbucks coffee?,, otherwise just have some jello... same effect...

Have you tries sucking on some ice? That might taste good and numb your taste buds a bit so that you can get in some liquids.
God Bless!

My mother used the water additives like propel, or country time lemonade when she had chemo like we told her things might taste funny right now but you still have to take care of yourself.. God Bless

My oncologist has candy dishes with hard candies, which help with dry mouth. I found anything with tomatoes tasted like it is suposed to as did eggs and potatos. I tried smoothies, which didn't taste right and forced myself to drink gatorade, which did help as others have said.

Hope chemo goes fairly smoothly for you!

The flavored water in glass bottles. It is rough while your taste buds are off. You really need to drink more than you did before the chemo.
