Cold Sore releif at home products?!
Question: Do you guys know any "at home make" products to make to relieve cold sores.
Other then the buying products ex. Abreva

I read this on the internet and now I swear by it. Nail Polish Remover (the kind with Acetone). Dip a qtip in the remover, hold it against the cold sore for 5 mins or longer. Gently wash off the remover when you're done. Let it dry out, and if it hasn't shrunk, repeat.
I did this and the first couple times I didn't know to wash off the remover, which left a red spot on my lip. But even so, that's so much easier to hide then a cold sore.
PS I know that it says you're not supposed to inhale fumes and to keep away from mouth, but I hate cold sores so it doesn't bother me. Plus, it works!

I like to use tea tree oil. A paste make with baking soda or powdered alum and water works to. My favorite of all time though is the tea tree oil, it heals and numbs it's great. If you want to try a prescription Valtrex works great; it isn't just for genital herpes doctors prescribe it a lot for common cold sores.
