Upper left chest pain. Please help me.?!

Question: I have irregular upper left chest pain,my chest pain doesnt get worse by inhaling. Its not very intense. Also sometimes i fell an odd sensation(same spot). This really annoys me.Sometimes this freaks the hell out of me and i think its a heart attack. One minute later im just fine. This has been going on for a month. This Monday i am going to do an EKG test just to make sure im ok.I think that i would already die from that this if it was that serious.
Also i have rare arythmias. My blood pressure is 121/83,and my pulse is is 72.
My dad told me he had the same when he was young(sudden pain in the chest). Also i heard that arythmias are normal for adolescent people (think it is related to pressure in your sinuses or something)
Sometimes im afraid to go to sleep.I keep thinking i will die while sleeping.Cant wait for this to end.
I am 16 years old.Im way too young to die.I dont think its high cholesterol or something,im too young to have that stuff.

Hi Filip,
There isn't enough info here to provide a good guess. Your BP & pulse are fine. About 33% of the general population experience ectopic (extra) beats. Most are harmless. The vast majority of patients who present w/chest pain, are experiencing musculoskeletal pain (non-cardiac). In cardiology, there is a diagnosis called "Mashuginosis." (That's Yiddish humor you can look up later.)

You're probably fine. You're just worrying yourself sick. If you get sharp pains, accompanied w/sudden sweating & shortness of breath. You need to go to the ER to be safe. What you're describing can wait until Monday. Feel better soon.

Could be growing pains, literally. The muscles in your chest are stretching and growing so is your breast bone and rib cage.
Also, could be anxiety attacks. They can cause sudden chest pain.

It could be something called Costochondritis which is a chest muscle inflammation. Only a doctor can tell you what it is and you need to be seen by one. Your blood pressue is in the normal range and that's good. You may want to try some Tyelenol to see if that helps the pain. If it continues even after taking tylenol, you should contact your doctor. Have you told your parents about this?
