If a person has diabetes, do they have a higher chance of getting a STD?!

Question: I would say that someone with uncontrolled diabetes may have a higher chance of acquiring and STI in part because elevated sugars can dry out the mucosal membranes in the body (mouth, genitals). It is at these mucosal membrane sites that many STIs achieve transmission. A dry mucosal membrane increases chances of getting HIV/STIs should the person be exposed

People with diabetes are more prone to getting any infection that they may become exposed to, including an STD.
