Horrible sore throat!?!

Question: I had it for about 5 days now.... Its been killing me! It feels swollen I think. Swallowing hurts, not breathing though. I also know I have a runny nose and a yucky cough. For my sore throat do I need to go see a doctor?

no you don't need to see the doctor for a sore throat unless it is affecting your breathing or you become very unwell- ie very high fever. Take some ibuprofen to help reduce inflammation and drink iced water

you may try to buy strepsils, i am not sure with the spelling. but in your case, i guess it is now tonsillitis or pharyngitis so

you need to take any antibiotic, maybe: amoxicillin or cefalexin. take it at least every after meal for 7 days.

please take an immediate action to your illness because untreated sore throat will lead to rheumatic heart disease which will put you to a higher danger. rheumatic heart disease can only be corrected with operations. any way, the reason which sorethroat or tonsilitis lead RHD is because if these illness is not treated, the microbe (usually streptoccoci) will find its way to the blood circulation and will come contact with your heart. they will anchor there and will destroy the valves of your heart and will lead tp RHD.

consult the doctor if after the medication, you still dont see any improvement. then tell the dr that you had taken antibiotics. for more infos, email me at dm_daryl@yahoo.com.ph

take care and get well soon

Strepcil is the best for a sore throat and it contains an antiobiotic for the infection. Also drink lots of cold water and smoothies are great for a sore throat. Ice cream is good and popsicles. Good Luck Hope you feel better soon

Have a a couple spoons of honey along with real lemon juice and drink hot tea slowly

Please do go see a doctor. If you have strep throat, and you leave it untreated it can cause a host of medical problems down the road. I don't know if you've had your tonsils out or not, but you may also have tonsilitis. Either way, please see the doctor and get checked out properly so you can get better quickly.

Good luck & be well.
