How does the immune system respond to viral infection?!

Question: Well if you do not suffer from an autoimmune disease than...your body realizes you have a agent in the body that is not supposed to be there, in that case your immune systems kick in what antibodies it does have towards the infection...goes in and fights it...which is how doctors know something is going on when your CBC or WBC comes back high. If you suffer from an autoimmune disease like myself...for me I have Crohn's disease and which there is nothing in my body to fight, but my immune system thinks my GI tract is not supposed to be there so it does it's job and goes for battle.

I am sure a doctor could do better. But it first compares the virus to any anti-bodies you already have and use specific killer cells to knock off the virus infected cells, if that doesn't work, it will try to develop an antigen. During this time you will feel symptoms of the virus, fever, feeling sick, head ache etc... are common virus symptoms. Once the body works out how to kill the virus, the symptoms go away..and you can't be infected with that virus again...but don't worry...there are millions of strains of viruses.

Well, your immune system helps your body fight off diseases. If the bacteria is too strong, it can break through your immune system, and can make your immune system low. Which means you can catch something else at a better risk. Hope it helps!!!!!!!!!!
