Vomiting, diarreah, weight loss?!

Question: 10 days ago i woke up with a low grade fever and severe diarreah, my fever lasted for 24 hours and the diarreah for about 3 ever since then about 20 min after i eat i have mild cramping and have loose stools, about 4 in 2 hours. then last night i developed another fever and this time i'm vomiting along with severe diarreah. since this all began i have lost 10lbs without trying (not complaining on that part lol) but my question is has anyone else experianced this? possibly know what it is. its a saturday so i really dont wanna make that horrible trip to the er where after 3 hours of waiting to be told to rest and drink fluids. if it continues on i will go on monday where i have a better chance of being evaluated.

Some of these bugs are extremely virulent. They affect everyone to different degrees. I have had that one before - about 5 years ago. All in told my stools were still loose 10 days after the diarreah started. I lost over 10 lbs. I don't know for sure but it seems to match the norwalk virus. I think that is what I had as well.

Take an over the counter med that will harden you stools and drink gatorade to keep your elctrolytes up. Do not drink only water you will de-hydrate as water sits in your stomach for hours while gatorade lets your body absorb important salts and carbs much more quickly.

Sounds like the norovirus thats going about. You don't need to go to the ER for diarrhoea and vomiting, its not an emergency! Just wait it out or if you think you need medical attention, make an appointment at your doctor. Do exactly what you said, plenty of fluids and rest.

Wow.... how has your appetite been? It sounds to me like a bowel condition of some kind.

It may also be an anxioty disorder. Just relax, don't go to ER, just see your doctor.
