Is the MRSA Infection curable?Has any one had it before and have gotten rid of i!

Question: mrsa is mersa. Thanks every one.

Answers: mrsa is mersa. Thanks every one.

It is possible to eradicate MRSA, but often not cost effective or truly necessary. Great numbers of people are colonized with MRSA and suffer no ill effects from it. However, if it causes repeated infections, they recommend you be treated with antibiotics to the nasal area (which is where MRSA lives if you are colonized), usually mupirocin, which over the long term will get rid of the infection. Many people also carry MRSA in the normal bacteria that live on the surface of the skin, without any ill effect.

I had it a year ago, and spent a total of six weeks on some form of antibiotic. Since that time I've had no recurrence, and they didn't seem particularly worried about the possibility of being colonized. So technically MRSA is "curable", but unless it causes repeated infections, it's not worthwhile to try and completely eradicate it.

It is curable, but its difficult. It takes the right antibiotics to cure it. Even then, the person should be screened for it regularly to make sure it doesn't come back.

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection is caused by Staphylococcus aureus bacteria
