Fever is a symptom of cold or influenza. It is not a symptom of allergy. Allergy never causes a fever. Sounds like you have a cold. Treated or untreated it will run 7 to 10 days. The best you can do is make yourself comfortable while your body fights the virus. That means plenty of liquids, sleep, and OTC medicines to reduce the symptoms. Nothing cures a cold but time. Hope you feel better soon.
Most people say it's not common to have a cold and a fever, but I find that I get a fever almost every time I get a cold (although it's not severe at all.) Just to be on the safe side, I'd suggest that you also get tested for strep throat; it is very common to have a fever -- especially a high one -- with strep throat.

fever usually signals a cold or infection. However, allergies run in my family and at times we have been known to run a fever while experiencing allergic flare ups.
