It's called "moon face" and is a very common side effect of steroid treatment. It's water weight. I find it helps a little bit to avoid salt, but otherwise you'll just have to wait until you can get off it. It will take a few weeks to completely disappear. My luck is so great that every wedding I've been in--matron of honor, bridesmaid, etc,--in the last 10 years has been while on prednisone, so my moon face is immortalized in everyone's wedding pictures. Grrrrr....

Now, steroids *can* make you gain non-water weight, too. This isn't related to the moon face, though. It's from the crazy weird hunger steroids can give you.

I hope you get a diagnosis soon, and get to feeling better.

hi my name is chris ohms and i work with dr. mehmet oz. u will have to lose it. dont worry u can do it.

some of it will leave once the drug is stopped and it will also tell your body tore everything as fat so you have to lose that weight just try to eat healthy and less salt is important too

Sorry about your problem.

The steroids are causing you to retain water, not fat. When you get off them, the fluid will go away.

That being said, I'm pretty sure steroids will increase your appitite, so eating too much will cause your body fat % to increase. Best to increase the green vegetable content of your meals to avoid fat gain. And decrease the starches.

Good luck.
