Question: Three days is usually the minimum time required to start to form a clot quicker than while on the Warfarin Sodium (Coumadin). The Prothrombin Time depends on the dose and time taken, I.E. howw long have you been on it. Vitamin K, will counter the anticoagulnt effect of the coumadin. About 3 days. But, stopping coumadin doesn't mean a clot is going to form. Just a little more likely.

Coumadin stays in your system for 3-7 days; these levels will not be therapeutic but will help to some extent to prevent clots. Of course, each person is different and situations vary greatly from person to person.

Why would you stop cumiden. I had mine temperaly stoped and put on heperin shots.
