Yes, there is a new strain going around that causes headaches, stomach pain and vomiting. It also makes you feel ill all over. You do not necessarily have to have a fervor with it either.

To answer your question, some people do get much sicker than others. It all depends on the immune system to fight off these viruses. You should be well in two or three days.

May God give you and your daughter good health!!

oh man i get something like that every christmas day.........so once a year on the day jesus was born, the time that family is supposed to be together blah blah blah I get sick for one day just christmas day wtf!? but i just slept all day and drank water and I was good the next day

It all depends on how you can handle illnesses, take a tablet for it, and lie down :] But, it is possible you could get it worse than your little girl. But those winter viruses usually don't last much longer than 24 hours. You should be over the worst of it by tomorrow. Unless it's not started. Hope you feel better soon :)

Sammy,
Winter vomiting disease is caused by infection with the small round structured virus (SRSV), also known as the Norwalk-like virus or norovirus. SRSV lives in the gut and is passed from person to person by poor hygiene after using the bathroom - not washing hands properly after using the toilet and then touching toilet handles, seats, door handles and so on. It can also be spread when someone vomits and small aerosols containing the virus enter the air. Although the infection's unpleasant, it's rarely dangerous. There's no specific treatment, but rest and drinking plenty of water are recommended. People with the winter vomiting bug should stay off work/school while the symptoms persist and for about two days afterwards. Practising good hygiene by washing hands regularly reduces the chance of passing on the infection.

Yes, it is common for viruses to affect some folks more than others. It is also common for kids to be worse affected than adults.

well, on friday, there was a girl in my gym class who wasn't really doing much, just doing a few step-ups, and ut of nowhere she pukes all over the place. maybe there is a virus thing, there was a guy in my gym group who didn't feel good, too. it was the same day.
