I have white chunks at the back of my throat.?!

Question: My doctor told me I am prone to tonsillitis a few years ago, and they are always swollen. Lately there have been white chunks growing inside them. It's like hard, and smells absolutely terrible. They come out eventually. It always feels like I have something stuck at the back of my throat. Is this part of tonsillitis? I've never had it before.

i agree they are tonsil stones-these occur when the tonsils are very enlarged and food gets caught there. it builds up like plaque and forms the small stones. You would tend to get infected tonsils more easily because they are enlarged and this material is a magnet for germs.

You need to see your Dr. Your tonsils may need to be removed.

you might have strep throat

tonsil stones...its something most people have..do salt water gargles and it will help ..they are pieces of stuck food...my husband suffers from this..they bother him too..he digs them out with a wooden tool thing from the dentist..

Sounds like an infection or thrush.

Either way, you need a culture and sensitivity culture test of your throat.

white chunks are a sign of strep throat. Go see your Dr.
