How long does a sinus infection take to go away without antibiotics?!

Question: It will never go away.
try this it works and is very inexpensive .
The ony things that really helped me was when my Dr. told me about a sinus wash that will kill bacteria.
you need

distilled water
sea salt
liquid chlorophyll and colloidal silver from the health food store.
in a glass mix 1/4 cup water with a pinch of salt and heat to body temperature.
add 5 drops each silver and chlorophyll and mix.
using a large dropper (like one used for infant medication) drop 2 full droppersfull into one side of the nose while laying down.
Turn the head and let it drain out the other nostril. Be sure to have paper towels handy.
The silver kills the bacteria and there are several hundred kind that can live in the sinus cavities and anti biotics don't get rid of them all.
Do this twice a day for a week, mixing up the mixture fresh each time.
Then do it once a week for maintenance.
There is nothing in this that will hurt you, and it cured me.
I do not have to take claritin, or antibiotics anymore.
best wishes

Possibly never.

If it goes away--and it might not, but simply become chronic--it's usually 7 - 10 days.

Doing everything you can to promote sinus drainage will help the odds of it clearing. Drink plenty of water, so much that your urine is practically colorless. Sudafed or Mucinex promote draining. Get outside in cooler air, if it's cool or cold where you are, since that can start your sinuses draining. Make sure you humidify--breathe steam when you can, and run a humidifier in the bedroom.

Hope you feel better.

A sinus infection does not go away on it's own. Untreated sinus infections can be very dangerous. They can cause very serious problem such as meningitis (which can be fatal). You don't want to mess around with an infection that close to your brain. If you have a sinus infection, you should go to the doctor and get on an antibiotic. Good Luck!

if you dont treat otherwise then a week to 10 days but run humedifires or go some place cool or cold...etc etc

A long, long time. They can really hang on -- the key word there is "infection." Just as an infected wound won't get better without appropriate medical care, a sinus infection doesn't just go away on its own. You can try home remedies and you'll probably get better eventually, but it might take twice as long as with medicine.

Even with antibiotics, sinus infections are hard to treat. This is because the blood supply to the sinuses is very scanty and the antibiotics do not get into them in large quantities. Without antibiotics, sinusitis may remain for life!!!

It doesn't. Get treated.
