This is a good site, with basic info. as well as patient's stories. I got my daughter a great book too, written by a teen girl who went through the same thing. I got it on Amazon, and it was not very expensive, and really helped her the most.

I think probably the best thing to do would be to ask your doctor for more information. I had severe scoliosis at 15, and they ended up doing surgery. That was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. Even though it wasn't easy, it was the best decision I've ever made.
