Is it possible to get genital herpes without having sexual intercourse?!

Question: Last week, I woke up in the morning to find numerous red spots/rash around my 'bikini' area. I'm not sure what it is, but i'm very afraid. I never had any sexual intercourse in my life for I am only 15.

I'm afraid to tell my parents about this. I don't want them to be worried about my condition.

What I'd like to know is, is it possible to get genital herpes without having sexual intercourse?

Hun have you ever had a yeast infection before?do the red bumps itch? do you have any unusual diss charge? maybe white kind of clumpy looking? if you have never had sex,or never even close to having sex then i wouldnt think it was an std, but yeast infections can cause a rash, red irritated skin around the vagina, here is a link about stds with out sex. if you are comfortable enough type in yeast infection rash in images and see if it looks similar to what you have.

Yes

If it was herpes dear you would know it. I have seen one case in a clinic where I worked and it is huge blisters that rupture and cause ulcers that the patient described as very painful. It sounds like you have razor burn instead of herpes. You can get genital herpes from sexual contact without having intercourse and I know many won't believe me but if you lay in a tanning bed that was not cleaned properly after someone who has active genital herpes has laid in it, the tanning bed surface is warm enough to keep the virus alive.

yes - all u have to do is come into direct contact with some1 carrying the disease.

Did you shave?? it could be razor burn.
if you had oral sex performed on you and your partner had herpes he could have possibly gave it to you.

You can get it from oral, but if you haven't done that either then it's most likely not herpes. Have you shaved/waxed the area? Could be shaving rash or ingrown hairs. If they don't go away, or become worse or painful, then you need to speak to your parents. Make sure you're not wearing underwear or togs that may be irritating the area, or using talcum powder.
