Can DNA tests prove if siblings have the same parents if one parent is deceased?!

Question: I am not that familiar with DNA testing, but if I found my brother could we be tested to see if we shared parents and if so how is that determined?

yes! they will take samples of your living parent, from you and your brother. they may even take samples of the paternal grandparent (s) too, but most likely they will just use the three of you.

good luck!

how can they figure it out? simple- they match the genetic code- your moms (in both of you) then they will isolate the remaining markers to see if they match. the higher the number of markers you share (aside from the ones from your mom) the more chance it is you share the same father.

if you are siblings they you could take DNA testing from each other and if it matches they you are siblings but you can't take a DNA from a deceased person.

yes

I don't know but they claim they can. Have a nice day.
