A good alternative to peanut butter for a 5 year old?!

Question: My son has just come back from the allergist with a slight peanut allergy, and I am looking for another nut butter that he can have that is similar in texture and taste to peanut butter. He is allergic to soy, so soy nut butter is not an option. Thanks in advance!

No nut butters! If he is allergic to peanuts you need to avoid tree nuts as well. Most tree nuts and tree nut products, bought at the grocery, are processed on the same machines as peanuts. Therefore you can not be sure almond butter just contains almonds.

Since your child is also allergic to soy try sunbutter. It is made from sunflower seeds. I think it taste's the most like peanut butter and is really good. My kids like it best too.

Hazelnut spread might be an option, but probably the most common way to find it is in Nutella
