The HbA1c is a test that your healthcare provider uses to see how your blood glucose has been over the last 3-4 months. This test lets your doctor know if the medication that he has you on is working for you with the way that you are eating.
The A1c is the test that lets the doctor make decisions as to whether to change your medication. The ADA reccommends an HbA1c of 7 or under 7 they would like diabetics to have their readings as close to 6 as possible and even lower if they can.
