Answers: give laura a the best answer that is perfectly put

The HbA1c is a test that your healthcare provider uses to see how your blood glucose has been over the last 3-4 months. This test lets your doctor know if the medication that he has you on is working for you with the way that you are eating.
The A1c is the test that lets the doctor make decisions as to whether to change your medication. The ADA reccommends an HbA1c of 7 or under 7 they would like diabetics to have their readings as close to 6 as possible and even lower if they can. I just had this test done in March and my HbA1c was 6.2 which is a great reading. You can find more information about the HbA1c on the American Diabetes Website and on WebMd website. You should also watch your diet for the amount of fats that you eat. This test is used to help the doctor make decision to help the patient with diabetes to better manage this disease with diet, medications, and any other things that he or she may decide will work.
