Ho Do I Stop Prickly Heat?!

Question: I'm heading on holiday for 2 weeks in May here and the last few times ive been away i've had terrible Prickly Heat to the point that I cant even step out in the sun for 5 minutes.

Last time I tried taking an anti-histimine (excuse the spelling) whenever I got it but it had little to no effect. Afterwards I was told that taking it a week or 2 before would have been more effective.

Will doing this completly eliminate the chance of me getting it while im on holiday? Or is there any other methods you would recommend?

Thanks

An old fashioned remedy they use in the tropics, is to fill a hot bath and sprinkle fairly liberally some baking soda powder into the hot water. Stir it around till you are sure most of the powder has dissolved in the hot water. Then jump in and have a normal bath as if you were normally washing yourself in the bath. The dissolved powder soaks into the pores of your skin and kills the bacteria that causes the prickly heat rash.

Camomile lotion is good.

im gonna give you some real weird advice, your gonna think, "yuk, dirty devil" but this remedy 100% works believe you me. when i was a kid, i had really bad eczema, so bad i was hospitalized often. i became very friendly with a romany kid at secondary school. about 14 years old, often i used to visit their caravan site, and play, one day the old grandma was visiting them, she noticed what a state my skin was, and told me to go to the loo with a bit of clean cotton wool, and forgive me this bit, but she told me to wee on it, then dab the pad on the itchy bits this i did, and from that moment on, i NEVER get itchy hives or get irritated in the sun. thats the truth, should i never speak again, try it, and no it does.nt smell or anything like that, no one will ever know. honest... good luck, i know what you,ve beem through.
