Answers: Can a wide variety of cardiac arrhythmias occur with cyanide toxicity?

Hi FACAS,

Another interesting question. Cyanide toxicity manifests usually as anxiety, dizziness, nausea, palpitations, tachycardia, headache, flushing etc. This is followed by bradycardia, hypotension, cyanosis and sinus or AV nodal arrhythmias. High concentrations of cyanide indirectly stimulate the release of epinephrine with subsequent tachycardia and hypertension. Late signs of cyanide toxicity include profound hypotension, complex arrhythmias, cardiovascular collapse, pulmonary oedema, and death.

Hope this helps.

yes..... it will occur....
