I dated a guy for about three years and we have been broken up for about five years now but I still hear about him every once in a while. I found out that he tested positive for HIV about six months ago. He is a meth user and contracted it form sharing needles. I think he is so disgusting and I am so glad I was smart and dumped him five years ago. I get tested every year for HIV and I am clean.
I know several people who are HIV positive. None of them have AIDS. All take the triple cocktail and all are healthy.
They have all been HIV positive for a number of years.

LovingMe - I do volunteer work for a Meals on Wheels organization in Chicago for seniors and terminally ill patients. I know several of the patients who have AIDS.
I do. I know a person who has HIV, also. In fact, both of them come over at least three times a week to our home.
I know a few people from around town, I wouldn't say personally, they were from my community, and then one who i knew from when i delivered medicine to the local nursing home. It's sad to see what it does to them. They have all passed away.

Yes, I fell out of touch with the 2 that comes to my mind, moved away, but I still consider them my friends, and I love them regaurdless.
Yes I do, my partner. He has been HIV+ for 24 years and doing just fine. Since the cocktail came out his health and outlook on life has greatly improved. Life is not perfect and there are other drug related medical complications, but all in all he is going strong.
