I have the flu.. Could I have strep too?!

Question: I've had the flu since last Sunday and have been slowly recovering (I hope). I had strep a month ago and on Friday I noticed that funny feeling in my throat again. There were two small pus pockets in it. I'm on antibiotics but still haven't seen improvement. My throat is swelling up again on both sides and it hurts to swallow (at least only on the one side I noticed that feeling initially). I have small red spots on the roof of my mouth as well. It's hard to tell if any muscle weakness or fevers are associated with it because I'm constantly like that from the flu. Could it just be a bad viral sore throat? I'm just paranoid because I had it so recently.

Thanks in advance :)

It wouldn't surprise me. My daughter just recovered from the flu, followed by a bout of strep. She had strep a few weeks prior to that as well. It's good that she prescribed you the antibiotics. Good luck.

Usually they do develop together so possibly.

hmm sounds like strep if you have spots on the roof of your mouth and a sore throat....get well soon..!
