Ways to get rid of acne?!
Question: i'm ashamed to admit i have acne, not that much of it, but still it drives me crazy because it seems that everyone around me has perfect skin. i use this st. ives cream but it doesn't help very much at all. do you know of a product that really works that is sold at a place like walmart, maybe? or someting else that gets rid of those annoying zits? please help me, thanks!

sometimes you cant get rid of acne all the way, due to hormones or genetics, but you can definitely help control it. make sure you cleanse your skin at least 2 times a day with a good daily cleanser that contains salicylic acid and or is an antibacterial soap. This will help kill any bacteria in the pores and help dry them out quicker. if you use a scrub be careful! scrubs can actually transfer bacteria across the skin and cause more acne. after cleansing the skin follow with a good oil free moisturizer that is light weight. do you touch your skin a lot? if so don't. this too can cause acne from bacteria on the hands....hope these help out.

proactive, my friend's mom is a facialist and she says that neosporin...you know the antibacterial stuff gets rid of pimples...maybe consider going to a dermatoligist
Wash your face EVERY DAYwith a 1-2% salicylic acid face wash (I use Clearasil Ultra) and follow that up with a 10% benzoyl peroxide acne treatment cream (I use the CVS brand). It should clear up in 3-7 days.
Oh, and always use sunscreen to protect it from harmful rays. I use Aveeno Positively Radiant which helps brighten your face and even out your skin tone.

Ask the Drug Store Beautician, for cleansing cream, next drying solution.
I tape bandaids on mine, spray alcohol on the absorbant bandaid, drieing the blemish.

If you are pretty young then you might just be getting acne before everyone else. Its a sign of maturity. I use clearasil ultra face scrub every morning in the shower and stridex acne pads every night before bed. The key is to keep your face clean. If you ever pop a zit make sure to use an acne pad or wash your face right away.
If it gets really bad and nothing else works you could get a perscription medication called accutane. You take it for 6 months and you can never get acne again. However it as a very strong medication and you must get blood tests while on it.
