Ulcers in windpipe?!

Question: monday morning i experienced serious chest pain, eg: ya know when ya skull coke or something fizzy and it gives you the burning feeling? well, i had that for approx an hour. After i had it for about 10min my breathing got really bad (kinda gave me a panic attack) so my girlfriend took me to hospital. They put it down to a 'possible' spasm which triggered hyperventilating and said to go home.
Now i've seen my reflexologist (a nurse for over 30yrs) who said i should go to my doc and get a gastro... (something or other) and a blood test to rule out an ulcer. Has anyone experienced this and if so, what was it?

Have you ever experienced this before? Any difficulty swallowing? heartburn? You should go to your Dr. for sure. He may schedule you for a scope to look at your esophagus but he will probably start with a blood test. It could be a stricture or an ulcer. If it was a bronchospasm--you still need to know more answers and perhaps have medication, to relax or dilate your airway, readily available in case you have another bronchospasm (if that is what is was). My Dad had untreated heartburn and a stricture which in turn caused his esophageal cancer. So DO make sure you go get assessed because you do not want to leave any of these things untreated. You should have had a better explanation than that and should be followed up with a DR visit. Sorry, that must have been frightening, hope you find the answer your looking for.

are you taking any medications? did you take any just before you went to bed? some medications need time to let gravity take them down your esophagus (like doxycycline) & if you lie down too soon, can get stuck in your esophagus & make you feel like you are having chest pain. this medication can also cause lesions in the esophagus. after you get scoped, your doc should be able to tell you what to do.
good luck!
