Im not that sure but somehow i dont think you should!!!
It could make it worse!

no just put loads of aftersun or moisturiser on it

If the burn was bad and you are peeling off a couple of layers of skin together and the skin below is moist, peeling will add more pain when your clothing touches this area. Leaving it in place until it dries more and breaks into smaller pieces will allow the skin below to dry and you won't have clothing hurting the area. It doesn't cause problems if you do peel it off other than what I have listed. No matter what you do, it is going to itch once the burn dries out - you will need some lotion to help with this once the itching starts.

No you're not really supposed to but we all do it anyway! Just make sure you moisturise a lot!!

I got really bad sunburn on my shoulders nearly 2 years ago and they burned so bad that I could only wear sleeveless tops for the rest of the holiday. The heat that was coming from them was ridiculous and the sunburn was that bad that it has scarred my shoulders and its still visible now!! That was my fault for being in the water on holiday then not reapplying suncream on my shoulders straightaway!! Ouch!!

You should let it come off naturally or you might scar the skin. When you tan again, that peeled area might stay white.

It's the same with scabs!!!

I would much prefer to be pale & interesting :D

It's very tempting but don't! The surface layer that you have burnt (although peeling) is protecting the tender layers underneath that you should allow to toughen up for as long as possible. It's like picking a scab off.

gently exfoliate of the dead skin and then apply a good moisturiser to promote healthy new skin.

Peeling the skin off is not a great idea. It will lead to problems with your skin coloration. My skin is all blotchy now since I got sun burnt and I peeled it off and now my skin is an ugly color. It is not natural to look this way. It will also lead to scarring.
