SVT if it is very rapid and prolonged can cause your heart to go into heart failure. This might be the problem, especially if your pulse is very rapid and you are in SVT during the shortness of breath. If this is the case it is important to terminate the rhythm as soon as possible and this is a relatively urgent problem. If this is not SVT something else is wrong and it does not seem to be a prudent approach to sit at home and wait for it to get worse. You can at least make your doctor aware of the problem and seek his advice on the phone. Do it today.

If it is a medical emergency, I'd go to the ER. If you think you can function, yet it is really bothersome, call your doctor's office and ask them to squeeze you in. Either way, you need to have this checked out. Perhaps your doctor's office can tell you if you need to go to emergency. Good luck!

lung problem? i would go and see a doctor as soon as possible.

Are you kidding? Call 911

Diagnosed heart problem AND feeling short of breath? Please go to the emergency room!
