My daughter was born w/ one and we ended up having to have a surgery for her health because at the age of two it still hadnt improved and was still rather large. Most likely if it is getting better then she wont have to have surgery unless she decides to for cosmetic reasons, or if it stays pushed out and hard. Definetly worth talking to her pediatrician about. If you have any more questions feel free to email me. Dr said that binding it could be dangerous.

I had two children born with one. My son's hernia was almost gone by 18 months. My daughter's hernia didn't heal up until she was almost 4. The old method of aiding the healing was to bind the child around the abdomen. The method when my kids were little was to push the hernia back in through the belly button every time you bathed them or changed their diaper. It must have worked for my kids. My daughter has 3 kids and during none of her pregnancies did it cause any problems . Neither child had surgery and neither have outies.
