Anyone have any luck with TAZORAC cream?!

Question: My dermatologist gave me a script for Tazorac 0.05% and I've been on it about a week...it's definitely making my skin peel and all the blackheads/whiteheads are exposed. Problem is, my skin is also red and broken....I'm wondering what is worse, blood-red irritated skin or blackheads?!

I'm getting married in two months and my derm. doctor said my face should be cleared up within 4-6 weeks....I REALLY hope that is the case because I would not be happy if I had to get married tomorrow! Does your face get worse before it gets better??

I was on it (well, on and off) for about a year and a half. It'll take a little bit for your body to adjust to it, but it'll stop getting really red. Be sure you're using a moisturizer and put that on after it dries at night. I would suggest that after a little while that you only put it on the places that need it to stop the redness. The redness is just something that'll work itself out. If you've got that long, you'll be fine.

It's great for what it does, though. I still have about half a tube left and, while my derm told me I don't have to use it anymore, when I get a zit I just put a dot of it on there at night and it's almost certain to be gone by morning.

Also, congratulations!!

i was just put on it 2 weeks ago and it has been kind of working but too early to tell. & my skin hasn't peeled at all (and i live in NY!) because i've been putting on Eucerin hand cream (it works on your face and wont irritate it, i have senstitive skin). I apply it before i put on the Tazorac & put the Taz on about 5 minutes later. Good luck :)
