Has anyone had a Lipotripsy?!

Question: How big were your kidney stones that made you have to have the Lipotripsy? What was this procedure like?

it is called Lithotripsy, my stone was 22 millimeters in size, and you are sedated for the procedure, you will not recall any of it. What happens, is you are placed in a tub of hypertonic solution, and sound waves are directed at the stone which hopefully will break it up into sand that will pass thru your ureturs and bladder and out. If it works it's great, no fuss no muss, if it doesn't and the stone is too large to pass, then surgery has to be used to remove the stone, which was the case in my situation.

Can't remember how big the stones where in my husband but he had the procedure done. They but him fully under and it took about 1/2 hour or so. As soon as you come to you have to pee and it will look like little sand. That first night he was still in pain. He was able to come home that night and in a few days was feeling great.

i had one stuck in my ureteral or tube from the kidney to the bladder 7cm
i had to have the lipotripsy because it was stuck and to big to get through the tubes, you will be given something to make you sleep or relax. They tap on your side with machine type and breack the stone up.After coming home your side might have a red mark on it and you might be bruised and feel like someone punched you in the side.It was not real painful. Then drink lots of water and cristal like stones came out of me i caught them in a strainer.Make sure you ask for a strainer so you can see if it all come out and show the doctor.God Bless
Hope all goes well for you
