Ingrown hair problem?!

Question: I have a bunch of ingrown hairs on the back of my neck from shaving my head and wearing a football helmet.

Anyone else have this problem and know how to get rid of it?

The dermatologist I went to said "There is nothing we can do about it" and quite frankly I do not believe him.

My hubby gets those. His hair is kind of curly and that makes it easier to get too. He found it helped if he used an exfolient on them when he was in the shower (a body exfolient, the stuff in facial ones would be too small). After the shower (but not if he was leaving the house!) he would put moisturizer on the area as well. Make sure it is a water based one that won't clog pores. Also, if you sweat a lot try and rinse of your head, especially the area with the bumps, because the sweat will make it worse. Also, talk to your barber about it. They might be able to lesson their contribution to it when they do your hair as well by not using a blade that cuts as close to the skin.

Besides these things I've noticed products that claim to help with this on the net, but never ordered any for him. Might want to check them out too if nothing else helps.

mouisture will make them come to a head... try putting some non alcoholic cream on a bandaid and leaving it over night. they should be soft enough to pull out or pop the head.

also maybe try some razor burn cream. this helps too.

hope this helps

quit your whining.
i had an ingrown hair on my damn ballsack!!
