What are ways to care for dry, cracked feet?!

Question: There are a number of things that you could do for dry cracked feet.

First thing that I would recommend that you do, is to have the person soak their feet in warm (but not hot because that is drying) water and use a foot file to clear away the excess dry skin. Then you might apply a lotion to their heels. The ones that are silicone based like Glysomed seem to work the best because they are a barrier and prevent moisture from escaping. I recommend lotion rather than cream because lotion is oil-based and cream is water-based. That's why your hands feel like they need to have a reapplication a few minutes later when you use cream but your hands feel great for a while when you use a lotion.

If you prefer a more natural way, you could rub the heels with an oil... baby oil or even cooking oil would do the job.

The best way to prevent cracking heels is to avoid going without a good pair of shoes and socks. The shoes need to be with a proper closed heel and good support. That means that sandals, slingbacks or "crocs" style shoes are out. They are usually too spongy and that just leads to even more cracking.

If you want to go with the more medical based route, you could apply a diabetic foot lotion or a urea-based lotion to remove the dry skin. Usually, the urea-based lotion is a prescription-only item so you'll have to ask your doctor to prescribe it.

If they are only mildly dry and cracking then this advice should help. PLEASE NOTE: I am not a medical professional and suggest that you should seek medical help/attention if you feel that you cannot manage this condition on your own.

there are medications in the market today to treat cracked heels or feet. Try Ellgy's Cracked heel cream, i think it would help. Also, try to pamper your feet to a spa at least every week or every 2 weeks.

Put lots of lotion on them & then put your socks on. The socks help lock in the lotion. Doing this at night would be the perfect time.

Don't know, not much info to go on. If your feet are red, dry and flaking with a little or more itching, could be athletes feet in which case you can pick up the cream for it anywhere.

Try virgin coconut oil.
It really works very well on dry skin condition.

You can get it from ebay:
