What are ur tonsils for?!

Question: what are they for and how come u can remove them

Answers: what are they for and how come u can remove them

Tonsils are lymph nodes inside your throat. That's why when you get throat illnesses they swell up. They help by making lymphocytes (one of the white blood cells) and macrophages that eat bacteria. When you're fighting an infection that involves your immune system, lymph nodes swell. Your appendix is also part of the lymph system.

Because tonsils and the appendix are in high traffic areas (lower GI tract and throat) they are exposed to a lot more of the infectious materials and tend to get swollen a lot more and sometimes get infected themselves and need to be removed.

That's what they are for and why you remove them.

Hope that answered the question.

Tonsils have no use, they do nothing to help the body, I think they are a leftover from 15,000 yrs. ago.

Tonsils are lymph nodes, part of your immune system. They filter out germs. They should stay because they protect you from infections. If they get so swollen you have trouble breathing, they can get removed surgically.
