How do you treat a razor burn, or prevent it from happening?!

Question: yeah make sure you use warm water, it's good to wash your legs before so the razor has a smooth close shave, and make sure the razor is sharp. shaving cream helps a whole lot, don't use just soap.

to treat, i can only think of lotion?

be very careful when you shave

razor burn happens when u dont prep the skin properly be4 shaving best to soak skin in warm water and shaving cream be4 shaving

I always put lotion on right after I am done shaving and that seems to help me.....I also use shaving cream.

dont shave dry. apply lotion before and after you shave

prevent it from happening by not pressing your razor so hard and use shaving cream. also, shave in the shower when your skin is wet

out lotion on after.
the kind that works well.
try bath & body work for some.
good luck!

to prevent use a good razor - not a dull razor. Also use something over it - never do it dry. I use conditioner on my legs to prevent razor burn to moistorize it instead of Shaving cream.

To help it - rub some lotion on it -it may burn but afterwards it'll feel better.

Apply deodorant or anti-perspirant to the area immediately afterward shaving. It sounds weird, but it actually works.

Bikini zone. Works for any kind of razor burn. Don't dry shave. Don't use soap. Use a good cream or get yourself an intuition razor. They work great.

i used to get razor burn very very bad on my inner thighs and bikini area but i use bikini zone now after i shave and its awesome!!!

i usually do this last in the shower as my hair is conditioning. so that my skin is good and wet and the hair has softened Also I use hair conditioner instead of shaving cream it works really really well and make sure your not using a dull razor. I hardly ever get razor burn. Oh and make sure to let you pours close before you lotion.

I dont know, I dont shave. I trim on occasion though.

Get a waxing, razor burn will be the least of your problems. LOL

Make sure you don't have an old crappy razor, and use good shaving cream or soap, and make sure it's all over your legs. (So that no skin just has only water on it..ouch!)

Put lotion on your legs after you have a shower/bath, this will make it softer, and add moisture back to your legs that shaving takes out.

GL.

Use a very sharp NEW razor, and make sure you use shave gel or cream. Don't use regular soap.

Look in the section of the drug store with the shaving products, they have specific aftershave products depending on the location.

Good luck.

Apply underarm deodorant to the recently shaved area. No joke. Especially in your nether regions.

ouchy! i get that when i shave my legs. i have REALLY sensitive skin and i use a guys electric shaver on my legs. i've been doing that for like 8 yrs and i dont get any razor burn or any ingrown hairs! i recommend it!! then put lotion on after you shave...vuuuaaalllaaahh.

depending where it is... usually something like ultra healing lotion or something like that will help it. possibly aloe. but use common sense on where you are using this!! haha but yeah i would NOT reccomend the fruity kids of lotions. that will just irritate it worse. and last but not least, just use a lot of soap/shaving cream when you shave. THATS ALL I GOT KID! LOL

Prevent it from happening:
-Use moisterizer
-Shave the way your hair grows
-Use shorter strokes
-Dont do it first thing in the morning
-Always use a shaving cream/gel/foam
-Soak before you shave for at least 2-3 minutes

Treat it:
-There are some shaving creams that are supposed to prevent it
-Use hydrocrotizone cream, ONLY when its really bad
-Wait it out
-Apply Ice/something cold

use shaving cream. Don't go over the area more than once. I've heard that putting stick deoderant on razor burn helps...I've never tried it.

Usually I soak the area with warm water for about a minute then apply a layer of shaving cream. I always make sure that the moisture strip on my razor is present or otherwise the shaving requires more effort. (More effort = more friction = more razor burn) After I'm done shaving I used to apply a layer of aftershave balm on my face. Now, my personal preference is a layer of witch hazel. The witch hazel doesn't smell nearly as nice on most occasions as compared to aftershave, but it helps with razor burn better and also keeps any bleeding under control.
