Possible skin rash?!

Question: So, I've had two rashes on my arms for a couple of months now. Each is slightly larger than a golf ball and they are located around the forearm of both my arms. Recently, I've been applying a cream (Cortizone) to the spots. The redness has gone down, but now my whole arm is getting red with tiny dots. Is this an alergic reaction, or is the rash spreading? What should I do?

Thanks in advance!

I had something similar to what you describe. My Dr. diagnosed it as Pityriasis Rosea. It started with a 'host' spot the size of a golf ball, and then went rampant on my trunk. It took months to go away! Do a search on it, the ADA has sites with pictures and you can see if it resembles what you have. I was given a cream to help it go away. My Dr. said I probably got it when I was shopping and trying on a bunch of clothes! I don't know if that was the cause, but it sure fit in with what I was doing at the time I picked it up! Good luck to you!
